Solutionising & Aging Process

T6, T5 & T4 Processes in India

At PUNE HEAT, we understand the importance of durability in steel fabrication, construction and production. For many years, our commercial customers have benefited from the wide range of heat treatments we offer, which allows us to provide products that provide our customers with excellent protection against weather, and daily wear and tear. A special method we use is precipitation solutionisation and aging hardening. This is a type of heat treatment that uses solid precipitates or inclusions in the hardening process.

Our solutionization treatment is required prior to age hardening/precipitation hardening. The single-phase microstructure formed during solution annealing is required prior to age hardening so that only the precipitate formed during age hardening is present in the final product. The composition, size and amount of these deposits formed during aging determine the hardness, strength and mechanical properties of the final product after aging. Proper annealing of structures before aging is essential to meet all these requirements.

In PUNE HEAT, we offer several types of heat treatments that increase the durability of metals. Our commercial customers benefit from using these technologies to harden their products to resist corrosion and deterioration, and our Solutionising and aging Process in India for stainless steel and other metals get the job done.

Solutionisation treatment process

During the manufacturing process, most materials can be machined hard, which limits the possibilities for further material processing. PUNE HEAT solutionization treatment during curing (pressure relief) can reduce the working cure condition to allow further curing.

Manufacturing processes such as soldering, welding, flame cutting and laser machining can have undesirable effects on material properties that can be avoided by solution annealing before further processing.

The manufacturing process can prematurely initiate the final hardening of the precipitation age, which can be avoided by remelting prior to further processing

Aging Process

To develop the final material properties required to meet specific part design criteria, it is common to subject the material (cast/worked material) to a prolonged low temperature to achieve a specific alloy microstructure. It must be heat treated for hours; this process is called precipitation aging hardening treatment or structural hardening treatment

This step is usually performed during or at the end of the manufacturing process. In this case, the heat treatment process greatly increases the hardness of the material and causes large predictable volume changes (shrinkage) that must be taken into account. Milling costs can increase significantly if grinding is required after hardening with aging.
